IMPORTANT UPDATES ~ Fall 2024
Per the SFU Dean’s Council meeting on August 21st and an email which was sent to all department Chairs and Deans on August 30th from Rummana Kahn Heman, Vice-Provost, Students and International, Student Services, please note the following changes to CAL operations which came into effect on September 1st, 2024:

  1. For Burnaby invigilated exams, CAL staff will no longer scan and email completed exams back to the instructor. CAL staff will continue to scan and email completed exams for the Surrey Campus and Vancouver Campus.
  2. Instructors will be required to upload the exam copy and exam details (duration, approved items, online or in-person, etc.) at least two business days in advance of the test date. We understand that some instructors continue to modify their exam copies very close to the exam date, in which case, please still upload the exam details into the CAL online portal in advance, and indicate when and how (drop off or email) you expect to deliver the exam copy to CAL.

We appreciate your cooperation in supporting these necessary changes to CAL’s exam operations. Please contact CAL should you need guidance in meeting these requirements. This will ensure that the students in your class who have disabilities will receive fair and equitable access to the accommodated exams to which they are legally entitled.
